WELCOME TO THE

In partnership with the Great ShakeOut, the #SHAKEmob challenge teaches and reinforces earthquake preparedness emergency skills for children Pre-K-3rd grade. These tools can help prevent injuries and save lives during an earthquake, at school, at home, and in the community.

We’ve created this program with our experts in earthquake science, emergency management, and early childhood education. This portal will guide you step by step through the challenge.

Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills, which began in 2008, are an annual opportunity for people in homes, schools, and organizations to practice what to do during earthquakes, and to improve preparedness. These events are coordinated nationally by the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) with funding from FEMA, supporting local ShakeOut leaders in all states and territories.

REMEMBER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GREAT SHAKEOUT ON OCTOBER 15TH, 2020!

OUTCOMES AND GOALS

  • Students and staff are better prepared on how to respond to earthquakes and prevent serious injuries to and from school, at home, and in public settings.
  • Families join and contribute to the safety conversation.
