LOS ANGELES – The Hero In You Foundation’s Rocket Rules for Safety program launched its latest collaborative video today featuring Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva delivering an important anti-bullying message for children. The three-minute video is hosted by Rocket, the child-friendly animated safety ambassador for the Rocket Rules program. Sheriff Villanueva and Rocket provide young viewers and families with actionable steps to identify and stop bullying.

In 1944, the US Forest Service was looking for a way to promote forest fire prevention, and decided a fictional bear named Smokey would be the perfect messenger. “Only YOU can prevent forest fires!” Remember it? There's a new program in Kearney giving kids an opportunity to learn life-saving skills from real life heroes. From CPR to applying first aid, kids are practicing procedures taught by volunteer fire and EMT personnel from across the state. It's called R. Hero camp, inspired by the big red dalmatian sculpture the firefighter's museum got last year.

MISSION VIEJO – Visitors to the city’s dog park are now being greeted by a purple puppy sculpture intended to serve as a reminder of the sacrifices of first responders. The city received the stainless steel sculpture from R. Hero, an organization with a goal of educating children about respect, honor, bravery and compassion.
